Hello Friends!
You are very lucky today because I am going to tell you about my visit to see my friend Steph at her Funky Fresh Farms! I am writing on account of I am Oliver the Free Range Pug and a reporter for Ethical Omnivore Movement.
Here is a wonderful Funky Fresh Farm VIDEO to watch even though my adorable self is not in it, it is still ever so good and makes me miss the Funky Fresh Farm very much!

“We operate a beautiful farm that’s geared towards organic and sustainable practices and strives to give back to the land wherever possible. We raise heritage dairy goats, pigs, chickens, mustangs, geese and ducks, and have a couple of livestock guardian dogs. Our property is situated on the edge of a dense coulee with a beautiful creek running through. We take pride in providing a relaxing environment to heal and revitalize, learn and grow. Two legged or four, you’ve got a loving home when you’re here. Give us a call @(403) 846-3835 ” ~Steph Mac
Me and my Mom has visited many farms but this was my favorite on account of there was many smallish animals and I could smells on them and walk besides them without the fears of being stepped upon.
Funky Fresh Farm is in a beautiful place in Alberta called the “Rocky Mountain House” and we drove there with my Auntie Tammy for two hours from Calgary which is my home with my Mom. Seemed like 200 hours on account of I have to lay down in the car and be a good boy. I loves my Auntie Tammy and I wanted very badly to sit on her lap. My Mom is mean, maybe SHE should lay down and be a good girl for a change.
Finally we got to the Farm and I was of the immense joyous! The farm had all of the beautiful ladies that were very happy to see me. My Mom says it’s cuz I am a lady “killer” on account of my adorableness. I would NEVER kill the beautiful ladies and my Mom needs to stop watching the murder shows on the TV. My Mom says she has an addiction to the cereal killers on the TV because they are all handsome. I think she also likes them because they kill the cereal and me and my Mom are Paleo so we hate the cereal and it needs to die… especially the Monsanto Corn type. I am confused mostly about being a lady killer. I think my Mom is teasing my brain.
Just as I knew.. the minute Mom gets with the other ladies she magically has a beer in her hand and so do the other ladies and soon everyone is hugging on each other but mostly on me and that part makes me very warm in my belly with happy. It is nice to see the ladies so joyous because they have the beautiful smiles on their faces and it’s even ok that their voices get very high and make my ears hurt. Mom says that they are my Aunties. I wonder if that is like the anties I step upon on my walks… only bigger.
All the Aunties took out their phones and took so many pictures of EVERYTHING. Mom takes lots of pictures of me all the time so I was getting frustrated to see the farm and had to bark and bark at her to stop. I hoped all the phone batteries would run out. Finally after many photografs we got to go outside and see many wonderful animals… except the Gooses..Mom says they are A-Holes. I wonder if they are cranky on account of having such long necks? I only have a very short neck and I am mostly of the joyous. Mostly all the other animals were happy and we made friends. Here are some wonderful pictures of the farm.
The farm tour makes us all very hungry and makes all the beautiful Aunties very thirsty for the wine and the beers. I loves to eat but I am a good boy so I do not swears and drink the booze like the Sailors. There must be lots of crashing of the boats. Time to EAT! Lots of Auntie hands under the table for me. Auntie Steph made a “Feast for Queens” and one round, spoiled Prince Mom says.
What a wonderful day and night we had at the Funky Fresh Farm. All of the beautiful, happy Aunties told the stories and laughed and laughed and then we all went to bed. Mom said it was like a wonderful Pajama party. We all were of the full hearts and tummies and slept like the babies, except for the no diapers. Mom says in a few years it “Depends” and then laughed and laughed the loudest.. like she does when she thinks she is funny which she always does with the beers. Sometimes she says it three more times. My Mom can be annoying but I loves her when her face is beaming with the smiles.
The next day Mom had a headache that she says only the bacon and coffee can fix. Lucky Auntie Steph had the wonderful pasture raised BACON and green eggs (on the outside) not like the Dr. Seuss kind! I has never seen that with my eyes before.
I was sad it was time to go away from the wonderful Funky Fresh Farm but all the Aunties had to go to work to pay all of the bills. I was happy none of the animals were stolen from the farm because they would not fit in the cars. I do think Mom might have stolen the ducklink though. He was small and adorable. He better not try and eat my food though because Mom hardly gives me any. He also better go the pooh pooh’s outside not on Mom’s shirt like before. Serves her right for squeezing him so tight.
Thank you for reading my blog and I hope that you can also visit my friends at Funky Fresh Farms. I will miss them all very much but Mom says we can go back and visit any time we likes.
Love Oliver 😛
